The Banks

Located on the banks of the Seine River, this area has been an integral part of Parisian life since its inception centuries ago.

The Banks began as a fishing port in the Middle Ages and quickly grew into a bustling centre for trade and commerce. As time went on, it became home to some of France’s most famous painters, writers, and musicians who were drawn to its beauty and creative energy. Today, visitors can still find remnants from these days scattered throughout The Banks like Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral or La Grande Roué de Paris big wheel that was built in 1900 to celebrate the Exposition Universelle world’s fair held in Paris at that time.

This area also boasts many historic monuments such as Place du Trocadéro which offers stunning views over the Eiffel Tower or Pont des Arts bridge where couples have been known to attach locks with their names inscribed onto them symbolizing their eternal love for each other (which is now forbidden). For those looking for something more modern, there are plenty of shops selling souvenirs, ranging from traditional French pastries like macarons to unique items like vintage postcards featuring classic scenes from around The Banks.

In addition to all these sights there are plenty of activities available along The Banks including boat tours down the river Seine or bike rides through one of Europe’s oldest parks – Jardin des Tuileries which dates back to 1664. There are also numerous restaurants offering up delicious French cuisine, so you can enjoy your meal while taking in breathtaking views over the riverfront skyline filled with iconic landmarks such as Musée d’Orsay train station turned art museum or Louvre Museum – both housed within former royal palaces.
